Twenty Twenty Four… Sam’s Faves
Here we are yet again… the yearly struggle to sum up an entire wedding season in a few paragraphs of clumsy and off the cuff words, without repeating myself from years gone by...
Every year I pull together my favourite frames from the season and I always talk about the variety of reasons for some pictures hitting me harder than others. My hope is that you’ll all be surprised and taken a back by a lot of my choices… Ultimately, photos affect us all in different ways and for various reasons. Some are simply artistically satisfying… some smack us deep in the feels… and maybe others are impossible to explain. Just a few of the reasons why wedding photography is the ultimate playground for creative photographers.
Never before has there been such a mix of trends and styles in the wedding photography world, and this has had a massive affect on my overall focus and intentionthis passed season. My taste and opinion of what makes meaningful photographs has never changed… but maybe my many years in the game has naturally developed my instincts and of course my skill set. This being said, I have made a concious decision to avoid the fleeting trends that have come about in recent times and stick to the all time best creative mantra… KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Just like previous years, I set out to compile a blog of no more than 100 images… but here I am posting 200! So you’ll just have to grin and bare it ;)
